Carnival Cruise Ships

Carnival cruise ships include Destiny, Triumph, Victory, Celebration, Ecstasy, Fantasy, Holiday, Jubilee, Sensation, Fascination, Imagination, Inspiration, Elation, Paradise, and Tropicale. That's quite a colorful lineup of Carnival cruise ships wouldn't you say?

Carnival cruise ships roots go back to the 1970s. Today Carnival is one of the leading cruise lines in the middle to upscale cruise market, with ships that have the capacity to put nearly 25,000 passengers afloat each week and that doesn't even include the capacity of Carnival cruise ships subsidiaries.

The casual, amusement-park environment, plethora of activities and entertainment, round-the-clock partying, and attractive packaging have combined to attract a new generation of younger cruisers. This is one of the few major cruise lines where 70 percent of passengers are younger than 55 and 30 percent are under 35 years of age. Carnival Cruise Lines offer discounts ranging from $50 to $200 to AARP members.

The focal point of each of the Carnival cruise ships is a spectacular grand atrium rising seven decks to an immense skylight with two glass birdcage elevators traversing between top and bottom. The majority of the cabins are located on the four lower decks. The public rooms and dining rooms are located on the upper decks.

The casinos are among the largest afloat featuring numerous blackjack, roulette, craps and Caribbean poker tables, and more than 200 slots. The library and card rooms are more traditional and offer a quiet respite. The boutiques at the Galleria Mall feature jewelry, logo items, T-shirts, men and women's cruise and formal wear, liquor, and sundries.

Dining standards on the Carnival cruise ships have improved measurably over the years. The two main dining rooms serve all three meals in two sittings. Seven course dinners are featured including a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, pasta entrees, and desserts, with steak, chicken, and health options always available.

The large indoor lido restaurants referred to as the Seaview Bistros offer a full-scale breakfast buffet and a lunch buffet that includes a salad bar, frozen yogurt, and freshly made pasta as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, and various warm dishes. One section of these restaurants provides a casual alternative dining alternative featuring hot pizza around the clock.

The Carnival cruise ships feature an extensive organized children's program on all ships known as "Camp Carnival." In addition, Carnival cruise ships offer children's menus, young counselors, and video game rooms. Activities and entertainment seem designed to appeal to single and married young adults under 45.

Carnival cruise ships feature a new golf program headed by PGA professionals which includes lessons both aboard ship and during golf excursions at top courses in the Bahamas, Mexico, and Caribbean islands.

The strongest points of Carnival cruise ships include spacious cabins on glamorous new ships, a bevy of daytime and evening activities and entertainment, a casual lively atmosphere, good food, and plenty of fellow passengers ranging in age from twenty to fifty-five.
